  • As a board certified psychiatrist I am experienced in treating many mental health conditions, although I particularly enjoy working with people who have anxiety around psychiatric care, or who have had negative experiences with the medical system in the past.

Some of the conditions I treat are anxiety disorders, depression, substance use disorders, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), PTSD and trauma related disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), personality disorders and psychotic disorders. I only treat adults ages eighteen and over.

  • I offer a broad range of psychiatric care including psychotherapy, medications, deprescribing and second opinions. Every person is unique, and after an initial intake I will talk you through my recommendations. For all my patients I prioritize lifestyle modification and psychotherapy over medications wherever possible. Sometimes, I really do believe medications will be helpful - when that happens, I can guide you through weighing the risks and benefits. For patients who are currently in psychotherapy, I am happy to collaborate with your therapist on your treatment.

  • I currently in network with Regence Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Pacific Source, and Moda Health. For all other insurance plans, I am out of network. For out of network insurers, I can provide a superbill of services for reimbursement (typically 50-80% of the cost of services - please refer to your health plan for additional details). I cannot see Medicare patients at this time.

  • In addition to in-person psychiatric services, I offer HIPAA compliant telehealth services for patients located in Oregon. For patients who are local, I will encourage you to come into the office occasionally, because I feel that healing happens best with in person, human connection.

  • I agree that the psychiatric profession has not covered itself in glory over the last century - my hope is that I can offer a different experience. My patients describe me as down to earth, easy to talk to, and open minded. I will not make you lie on a couch and recite your dreams (unless you want to), I will not reflexively prescribe medication for every emotion you experience, and I will not dismiss your concerns about medication side effects.

I am an old-school psychiatrist in the sense that I take personal responsibility for all my patients. I collaborate with therapists and other members of a patient’s healthcare team. If my patients are hospitalized (for psychiatric reasons or otherwise), I will visit them in the hospital. I do not abandon patients when they are struggling. I believe medicine is not a job, it is a profession in which I am called to be present with those who are suffering.

  • If you are interested in becoming a patient, please schedule a consultation on the New Patients tab. If you are unable to make any of the available appointments or if you have questions, please call me directly at (541) 703-3210. Please note that filling out the intake form does not constitute a doctor-patient relationship.
