About Dr. Kilcup
I am a board-certified psychiatrist with a small practice in Lake Oswego focused on providing high quality, thoughtful care to my patients. Originally from Los Angeles, I completed my medical and psychiatric training in Chicago and Seattle before settling in Oregon, where I now live with my husband, children, and a multitude of pets. I have experience working in academic settings, residential substance use treatment, as well as with individuals who have experienced trauma or have complex medical conditions.
In my practice, I offer a humanistic approach that seeks to thoroughly understand each person’s values, strengths, and goals at every stage of treatment. I believe that the most important tool I have is a supportive, collaborative, and trusting doctor-patient relationship. I prioritize psychotherapy and lifestyle intervention, using medications and/or supplements only when they are consistent with the patient’s goals. When medications are considered, I help patients weigh the risks and benefits of all available options, and provide guidance on when and how to taper off.
It is important to me that my patients feel comfortable with me and my approach. If you are wondering if we could be a good fit, please schedule a consultation or give me a call - I would love to connect and learn more about you.
